The North Florida Bicycle Club hosts the 31st Annual Tour de Forts Classic on Sunday, May 23, 2021, beginning at 7:30 a.m. Cyclists are invited to participate in this bicycle tour through several scenic and historic routes in St. Johns County.
The ride begins at the St. Johns County Fairgrounds in Elkton, where cyclists can choose their route of approximately 13, 27, 36, 52, 63, 78 or 100 miles. The routes wind through uniquely scenic and historic areas from the historic Castillo de San Marcos National Monument in downtown St. Augustine to Fort Matanzas and the beautiful beaches along Scenic Highway A1A. The longer routes will take cyclists on the Palatka-to-St.-Augustine State Trail and along the St. Johns River.
Hundreds of cyclists and their families participate in this event each year. A portion of the registration fees will go to support the North Florida Bicycle Club’s Pedaling for Safety nonprofit organization. Registration for this supported ride includes pre-ride snacks, rest stops, and a post-ride lunch and party.
Registration: Registration fees start at $60 per person per race and increases to $80.00 on the day of the race. (See Registration Fee table above on right.) North Florida Bicycle Club members receive a $10 discount. Early registrants (by April 25, 2021) can choose between free socks or a T-shirt. Visit here to register.
