Independence Day is just around the corner and we can’t wait to celebrate! We’ve put together a list of fun events and activities happening in the surrounding area of St. Augustine and Jacksonville.
Then and Now: 50 Years of Veteran Experiences – St. Augustine Art Association:
What better way to celebrate America than taking a stroll through an art exhibit which showcases our American Heroes. Then and Now merges St. Augustine’s art and history with today’s global military awareness and experiences, providing both an educational narrative and outreach. This exhibit begins on July 2nd and runs through August 22nd.
Independence Day Celebration hosted by the Jacksonville Jumbo Shrimp:
The tradition of July 3 fireworks at 121 Financial Ballpark will continue in 2021, as the Jacksonville Jumbo Shrimp are hosting an Independence Day Fireworks Celebration presented by Nimnicht Family of Dealerships and Darley’s Plumbing at 9:15 p.m. Fans are invited to come early to the event, with the club screening a baseball movie on the high- definition video board , kids zone activities, and ballpark fun. The movie screening starts 7:30 p.m with gates to the event opening at 6 p.m.
Militia Muster at Fort Mose State Park:
Experience free musket firing demonstrations from 9-11:30 a.m. at Fort Mose Historic State Park. Youth are welcome to participate in Junior Militia training using handmade wooden toy muskets.
Celebration 5K – 1st Place Sports:
The Celebration Run is a wonderful way for the entire family to start the holiday. This run features moisture wicking shirts to all participants, custom designed medals to all 5K finishers and 1st Place Sports fun run medals to all mile finishers. You can even carry an American flag during the race to show your spirit, flags are provide by the race!
Fourth of July at MOSH:
Celebrate the 4th of July with premiere viewing of the City of Jacksonville fireworks! After exploring the Museum during extended hours, enjoy the fresh breeze on the MOSH Rooftop. Sit back and watch the night light up in red, white and blue!
Fireworks over the Matanzas:
Enjoy the Fourth of July Concert and Fireworks in St. Augustine starting at 6 p.m. with music by The All Star Orchestra in the Plaza de la Constitución. At 9:30 p.m., one of the largest fireworks displays on the East Coast bursts above the ancient Castillo de San Marcos and reflects in the waters of the Matanzas Bay.
Fireworks from the Top! :
Enjoy the all the fun of the St. Augustine fireworks from the top of the St. Augustine Lighthouse at 9 p.m. Space is limited so it’s best to get your tickets ahead of time!
Fireworks Aboard the Victory III:
Enjoy St Augustine’s Fireworks over the Matanzas display from the water. Board the Victory II at St. Augustine Municipal Marina and enjoy the best show in town in comfort.
Jacksonville’s 4th of July Fireworks Celebration:
Jacksonville’s Fourth of July Fireworks Celebration will return this year at multiple locations to celebrate the nation’s independence. At each location, the City of Jacksonville is offering a spectacular fireworks display that will begin at 9:45 p.m. on Sunday, July 4, 2021, with free entertainment at the downtown location beginning at 5 p.m. at Riverfront Plaza.
